BEAUTIFUL 1966 FORD MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE…AMERICA’S CLASSIC PONY CAR…READY TO SHOW OR GO!

This is a fantastic 1966 Mustang Convertible that we recently acquired from a gentleman in Washington State who owned the car since 2004.  He purchased it after it had been very nicely restored by a guy who had owned it in his area for 13 years. Prior to that it is believed to have had one other owner also in the state of Washington. The DSO is code 74 Seattle, WA and this was a R code San Jose Production car.  It is apparent from the condition and originality that this car lived a very pampered, rust free, damage free life. The previous owner entered the car in quite a few shows during his first few years of ownership and came home with quite a few trophies including several first places. He only drove this car on sunny spring and summer days and kept it covered and garaged the rest of the time. I will do my best to provide enough pictures, a couple of videos and an honest description to help you decide if this is the right Pony to add to your stable.  Sit back and enjoy!

The body of this ’66 Convertible is in fantastic condition. The restoration was done 10+ years ago but overall it has held up beautifully and this car can easily be taken to any of your local shows and cruise ins and should still come home with its share of awards. It was repainted in its original Candy Apple Red Color and the paint quality is excellent with a super smooth finish and great reflection and luster. Body panel fit is great and the car is very straight down the sides. Doors open and close with ease. Body panels look to be original and a GT style rear valance was added for the dual exhaust.  All of the Chrome, bumpers and trim look excellent. Glass is all in very nice condition and windows all roll up and down nicely. Keep in mind the restoration is over 10 years old and the car was driven and enjoyed as it should be. As a result there are some very minor rock chips and blemishes and a very small rock chip in the center of the windshield. I did not see any bubbles or signs of rust anywhere along the body.  Overall this Classic Mustang is in fantastic condition and is not only a car that you can drive and enjoy but it is truly one that will make a great investment for the future. The previous owner kept a photo album of the years he took it to the shows and that will be included.  Here is a walk around photo tour of the body and there is also a walk around video at the end of the listing.

Sit inside this Classic and you will think you are on the Ford Showroom in 1966. The standard black interior is in beautiful condition. Everything from the door panels, seat covers, dash pad, carpeting, gauge cluster and trim looks great! There are seat belts front and back and an aftermarket cup holder that attaches to the ashtray area is included. The carpeting looks like it could be original but is in great condition and a nice set of Pony floor mats is included. The black convertible top is also in great condition. It is a manual convertible top that opens and closes with ease. The original clips in the convertible well to hold the top down are still in tact and there is also an original black boot cover that looks great also. All of the interior and exterior lights are working. You will truly love the condition of this pony. Take a look.

On top of its great looks this Candy Apple Red Pony also drives great as well. The original C-code 289 V8 2bbl still pulls strong and cruises out great. Engine bay is nicely detailed and you can proudly pop the hood at any local car show or cruise in. Original door tag is still present and so is the VIN# stamping on the drivers inner fender.  C-4 Automatic shifts nicely and cruises great at 30 mph or 70 mph. Mileage on the odometer shows 58,600 but I would have to believe it has rolled over one time. Nicely optioned with Power Steering and Power front Disc brakes handling is a breeze. Front suspension has been updated over the years and this car handles great and tracks nicely down the road. Beautiful set of 14″ Styled steel wheels wrapped in white wall radial tires with plenty of tread. Very nice soft rumble from the dual exhaust that exits out the GT style rear valance. This Pony is ready to be driven!! You can listen to the video at the end of the listing to hear it running. The inside of the trunk is rock solid and has the correct plaid mat. The floorpans and torque boxes are original and in fantastic condition as well. Overall this is just a super solid great running Mustang convertible!!
