We recently acquired this fine Pony from a gentleman who had owned it since 2005.  He found the car in Hemmings Motor News and sent the seller an email with his name and phone number.  The seller responded and asked if he was related to a family with the same last name who owned a Ford Dealership where he lived.  He responded that in fact he was and that the dealership was originally owned by his father and now is being run by his brother. Well, the seller had bought this ’66 Mustang at that dealership back in 1986.  The two of them chatted and then the car was sold to the guy we bought it from.  The car underwent a professional restoration in 2002 including over $10,000 spent on the paint and body. As you will see the result is fantastic and it has stood the test of time the past 9 years and has only been enjoyed on Sunny day drives and to the local shows.  The gentleman we bought it from realized it was time it should go to a new home.  If that home is yours, you will be an extremely lucky and proud owner of a beautiful 1966 Mustang Convertible.  I will do my best to honestly describe this classic and will provide enough pics and a video for you to decide if this is the right one for you! Sit back, get comfortable and enjoy!

The paint and body on this ’66 Convertible are in fantastic condition. When you think that the car was restored close to 10 years ago and that it is black you know that for it to look this good it was done right by a true professional.  There is no rust or signs of rust anywhere on the body. No bubbles or cracking in the paint from signs of poor body work. The body panels are very straight and the gaps between panels is awesome. You will see in some of the pics that follow that the paint has a mirror like finish to it and shines like it was done last week…but the reality is that it was done almost 10 years ago!! Chrome and trim look excellent. A few small chrome items are original and as a result show their age but do not take away from the overall high quality of this car.  I will not call the body flawless but it is way above average and comes close to show quality. It will definitely bring home trophies at the local and maybe regional shows but this Pony deserves and wants to be driven!! Here is a walk around photo tour of the body and at the end there is a video for another look around:

Nothing compliments a beautiful Black Mustang Exterior like an equally nice Black deluxe Pony Interior.  It appears that the interior was redone probably at the same time 9 years ago and the seats, carpet, dash pad, gauge cluster and door panels all look fantastic.  All of the gauges including speedometer, fuel gauge, temp gauge are working correctly. The Black Power top looks close to new however someone put a split glass window in the rear and the clear silicone bead has split slightly.  These cars should be driven top down whenever possible and hopefully not in the rain so this should not be an issue but could easily be repaired if desired. Take a look for yourself:

Under the hood is the original 289 V8 C-Code motor that has been gone through over the years and runs out great! In fact I took it on a nice drive the other day in 95 degree Atlanta heat with no overheating and had it on the highway at 75 mph and it drove smooth as silk!! Power Steering makes handling a breeze and the manual drum brakes were gone through and stop great. The previous owner had the original C-4 automatic Transmission rebuilt in 2006 and it shifts strong and smooth. Brand new set of BFG Radial TA’s on nice set of Styled Steel wheels set this Pony off nicely.  The undercarriage looks great and is rock solid with no rust issues in the floor pans or torque boxes.  It could be detailed to be as nice as the rest of the car but looks very presentable as is.  Inside of trunk is also rock solid and looks great with no issues.  The original boot cover for the convertible top comes with the car and works nicely but is missing one snap that is easy to replace. Overall this Pony runs as good as it looks!!
