This beautiful ’67 Mustang Convertible came to us recently from Sunny, Dry, Southern California where it spent most, if not all its life. It is an R-code San Jose Production car and the gentleman we bought it from said he knew the previous owner who owned this Mustang for many years before deciding he was no longer able to drive and enjoy it as he had for so many years.  He offered it to his friend who he knew had owned many Classic Mustangs over the years. While it had lived a garaged and very pampered life for many years, the paint was over 20 years old and faded so it was treated to a very high quality repaint in Ford Candy Apple Red by a professional restoration shop about 6 months ago.  As you will see it is breath-taking to look at and it drives just as well!! It is believed to have under 89,000 original miles on the original C-Code 289 V8. It is loaded with Power steering, front disc brakes, power top and factory air conditioning.  This Mustang is turn key ready for the local shows, cruise-ins, or any drive you want to enjoy in it!  I will do my best to provide enough pictures, an honest description,  a video so you can hear it running in order to help you determine if this beautiful Pony belongs in your stable.  The last 3 Classic Mustang Convertibles we sold last month all sold within a week of listing and we expect this one will be equally as popular.  Sit back and enjoy!!

As you are probably already noticing, the body on this ’67 convertible is absolutely fantastic and the paint quality is extremely good and is what many people would consider show quality.  The body lines and gaps on this car fantastic as you would expect from a classic that appears to have all of its original body panels and lived a very art, rust free life in Sunny California. I do not have the complete history of the car but I do not believe it is a car that changed hands many times in its life.  The gentleman we bought it from was a Mustang Enthusiast who had a relationship with a high end Paint professional and they decided this Pony really deserved a shiny new coat of Ford Candy Apple Red Paint. They did an outstanding job and the car has been wet sanded and buffed to the high level finish you see in the pictures. The car had previously been painted Candy Apple Red so they stayed with that color, although this car originally was Lime Gold. I could not find any traces of the original color and it is hard to argue with a Candy Apple Red Mustang Convertible when it is done as nicely as this one. The body is truly close to flawless but to play it safe lets say there may be a few tiny rock chips that I may have missed. No bubbles, cracks or other flaws in he body. This one will bring home trophies at your local shows if that is what you enjoy.  Bumpers and chrome trim all look great! Windows all roll up and down nicely and window fuzzies look to have been replaced. This Mustang has the deluxe hood with turn signals built in that do work! It also has the deluxe chrome trim package with lower rocker chrome trim and wheel well chrome trim. There is really nothing I can pick apart on the body of this beautiful car. Here is a walk around tour of the body:

Complimenting the gorgeous Candy Apple Red Exterior is a beautiful Red standard interior and a White Power Convertible top. This is just a Classic Mustang color combination!!! While I always recommend driving these awesome convertible classics with the top down as often as possible it is nice to know that the power convertible top operates perfectly and the top itself is in excellent condition. I did notice a few very small spots on the drivers side rear of the top that must have been pinched at one time that were patched but will not be an issue for many years to come and the top looks great overall and the rear window is the split glass style and is crystal clear. The red boot cover snaps on easily to cover the convertible top when down.   Inside you will not the rich red interior is also in fantastic condition. Door panels, seat covers, dash pad, dash and gauges, everything looks great.  There is some wear to the drivers side carpeting up by where the drivers side left foot would rest but it is not noticeable thanks to the brand new matching red Pony Floor mats.  A brand new hump hugger center console was added that matches the interior perfectly. These are great as they add cup holders and storage unlike the factory center consoles. The gauges are all very clear and seem to be functioning properly as well as the lights including the courtesy lights when the doors open. An aftermarket am/fm/cassette was added many years ago without altering the original dash. If I had to pick the interior apart I would just mention that the drivers side seat bottom is not as tight and firm as the passenger side which is expected from years of enjoyment. Still very comfortable and little to no wear. I also noted some minor wear to the vinyl that covers the inner windshield pillar on the drivers side but this could easily be dyed to be unnoticeable. Overall the interior and convertible top are in great condition and will show very nicely and do not need anything at this time. Here is a photo tour:

This Pony not only looks fantastic it also drives just as well. This is one smooth and quite Classic Mustang. The original C-Code 289 2 bbl starts right up and is very quiet and it breathes out the stock manifolds and through the original style single exhaust.  Plenty of power to handle todays highway speeds and it does so effortlessly. I had the pleasure of driving this Mustang the past couple of days now that the temperatures have warmed back up here in the Atlanta , GA area to the high 60’s.  It performed beautifully at 35 mph and just as well on the highway at 75 mph.The C-4 automatic transmission shifts silky smooth and effortless.  Power steering makes handling quite easy and front disc brakes add to the stopping power. Front end feels nice and tight and it handles the road very well and would be great for those sunny day drives!! Factory Air conditioning will be nice to have come Spring and summer and it seems to be working although will need to be charged to blow really cold. Right now this Pony is ready to drive and enjoy and should not need anything when it arrives to your door. The engine bay has been nicely detailed for a factory stock appearance.  Below are pics of the engine bay and also a video so you can hear this Pony start up and running.

The undercarriage/floorpans and torque boxes on this mustang are extremely solid thanks mostly to having lived in the warm, dry California climate.  Floorpans all appear to be original although I did note a small section of the front drives side floor pan that had been patched with metal at some point.  Inside of the trunk is also rock solid and comes with factory style mat and spare wheel and tire.  The original door tag is still in place on the driver side door and original VIN stamping still legible on the driver side fender apron.  This Pony is also running on a brand new set of 15″ Styled Steel wheels with the correct Blue center caps that came on the 1967 Mustangs. The fronts are 15×7 with 205/60/15 brand new BFG Radial TA tires and rears are also brand new and a little wider on the 15×8 rears with 225/60/15 tires.  This is a beautiful and solid Pony everywhere you look!!
