ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS, RAVEN BLACK, 1967 FORD MUSTANG FASTBACK FULLY RESTORED AND READY TO SHOW AND GO!!
BEAUTIFUL BLACK STALLION WITH PLENTY OF GIDDY-UP AND AN AWESOME STANCE TO MATCH!!
It is hard not to fall in love with the look of a laser straight Black ’67 Mustang Fastback and this one will take your heart away. We recently acquired this one from a gentleman who bought it 2 1/2 years ago after it had been fully restored by a serious Mustang Collector. He bought it so that he could go to the shows and cruise ins with his brother and friends. Well, with 2 kids under the age of 4 and a new business he was launching he found out he never had the time to truly drive and enjoy this Black Stallion and he needed the money more then the car at this point in his life. While this was unfortunate timing for him it is great timing for the next owner who is going to absolutely love everything about this Pony. I have been driving this car for the past 2 days and can tell you that it is an absolute joy to drive and catches all of the attention you can imagine. Regardless of whether you are looking for a Fastback to simply drive and enjoy or if you want one that will bring home trophies at the local shows, this one is sure to please! I will do my best to provide enough pictures, a couple of videos and an honest description to help you decide if this Pony belongs in your stable. The pictures are fairly large and may take a few minutes to load so please be patient as it will be worth the wait. Sit back and enjoy!!
The body on this Raven Black Beauty is in fantastic condition!! According to the previous owner the car had been restored about 4 years ago and the gentleman who did the work was a serious Mustang Collector who knew what he was doing. Body panel fit is excellent and the body itself is amazingly straight which is crucial when you are painting a car black. The body lines of the ’67 Fastback are so clean and muscular that they decided to give this one a stealth-like, super clean look and did not put any of the Mustang emblems on the fenders. I was tempted to add a silver GT 350 stripe along the bottom of the car and add some Cobra logos but the body is so nice and so clean that I decided to leave it alone and let the next owner decide if they wanted to make any changes. The paint quality is show quality with a mirror like finish! The body itself is close to flawless. I noticed a small chip below the drivers side door that was touched up and there is a minor imperfection at the rear corner of the trunk lid that is barely noticeable. There are no bubbles or signs of rust anywhere along the body of this Pony. This Fastback started life as a night mist blue color but it wears the Raven Black color so nicely that it is easy to excuse the color change. I was told that during the restoration the car received new rear quarter panels. The work was done to a very high level and the car truly looks as good, if not better, in person as it does in the pictures. All of the chrome looks fantastic. You will notice that a Billet Front Grille was added in place of the stock grille which also adds to the look of this car. All of the glass is in fantastic condition free of the scratches and chips you usually see on these older Mustangs and windows roll up and down easily and seal up nicely. This fastback has the upgraded hood with the turn signals built in which work correctly. As you will see in the walk around tour below this is a very high quality car that I know the next owner will absolutely love!!
Complimenting the fully restored Raven Black exterior is a beautiful Black interior that has also been completely redone and is also in fantastic condition. As can be seen on the original door tag this Fastback came with the luxury interior. Originally it was blue to match the original Blue exterior but it was redone in Black to match the Raven Black exterior. The black upholstery is accented nicely by the deluxe brushed aluminum door panels and dash panels. They added a Shelby GT 500 emblem to the passenger side of the dash bezel which is a nice remembrance of the great Carroll Shelby. Carpeting is like new and a nice set of Mustang Floor mats were added. An aftermarket Humphugger Center console was added which is great because it offers cup holders and some storage. It wraps neatly around the 5-Speed Shifter. Yes, I said 5-speed!! The original 4-speed was upgraded to a Tremec 5-speed which really makes this Stang fun to drive. Headliner is also like new and this car also has an overhead console with map lights which is another great touch. A Custom Autosound digital AM/FM stereo was installed without cutting the dash and there is also an iPod adapter so you can listen to all your music. This system sounds great with the 6×9 speakers professionally mounted in the rear hatch area and speaker mounted in the front dash. Dynamat sound deadening was laid down beneath the new carpeting to dampen road noise. Original style deluxe steering wheel looks like new with no cracks which are so common. Gauges are all crystal clear and everything seems to be working correctly including all lights, wipers, etc. The only flaw I noted is a very small spot on the driver side seat edge that has a small wear mark and a slight scratch in the brushed aluminum drivers side door panel where the door handle slides to open the door from the inside. Overall the interior looks pretty close to showroom new and is ready for the shows. Here is a look:
This Beautiful ’67 Fastback drives and handles just as good as it looks!! Under the hood is a completely rebuilt 302 V8 which I would estimate is putting out about 275-300hp. unfortunately I do not have any of the build info on the motor however I was told there is only about 1500 miles on the car since the complete restoration including the motor rebuild. Engine bay is nicely detailed with Mustang Performance valve covers and air cleaner and a chrome alternator. The motor may have a mild cam but is definitely is nothing radical and it was built to be driven and enjoyed. An Edelbrock Performer intake and Edelbrock 4bbl carb feed the fuel. This motor breathes out a great set of Headman Ceramic coated headers that lead back to a great sounding set of Flowmasters which exit through the dual exhaust tips right below the rear valence. This A-code Fastback was originally a 4-speed car but it was nicely upgraded with a new Tremec T-5 5-speed. This benefit of the 5-speed is that you now have a true cruising gear in 5th so when you are on the highway you can drop it in to 5th gear and you are probably only turning about 1800-2000 rpm which will allow you to get great gas mileage. You still can have all the fun you want from stop light to stop light as you fly through the gears!! The clutch feels great and this set up is a true pleasure to drive. Manual steering is easy to handle as soon as you start moving and this car handles the road fantastic thanks to a nice set of new front and rear sway bars, new springs, and all new front end suspension components. The front brakes were converted to the SSBC front disc brakes. They are manual but stop very well. This Fastback also has a great stance thanks to the 17″ Eleanor style wheels wrapped in like new Raptor Radials that give you a great footprint on the road. The front end was lowered 1″ as well. I have included a video below so you can hear how grew this fastback sounds!!
HERE IS A SHORT VIDEO SO YOU CAN HEAR THIS PONY START UP AND RUNNING…TURN UP THE VOLUME!! ( HIT THE ARROW TO START)
As you can tell this car received a very high quality, professional restoration. The undercarriage of this fastback is rock solid and looks very nice. I was told that new floorpans were installed and again the work that was done was very high quality and it looks great. Floorpans and torque boxes are rock solid. Inside of the trunk is also rust free and rock solid. The trunk has an original style trunk mat. The original Vin # is stamped on the drivers side fender apron and the original door tag is still in place as well. you will definitely be pleased with this car!!!
