THIS IS ONE RARE BIRD!!! 1 OF 492 , 2002 PONTIAC TRANS AM COLLECTOR EDITION CONVERTIBLES WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION PRODUCED!!
Spring is coming and if you have been looking for a fantastic future collectible that you can drive and enjoy or take to the shows and cruise-ins then this 2002 Pontiac Trans Am Collector Edition Convertible is the one!!! This was the last year of the Trans Am and Pontiac only produced a total of 2390 of these Yellow/Black Collector Edition TA’s. 2000 of them stayed in the United States and of those only 492 convertibles with an automatic transmission were produced. Fast-forward 15 years or so and these will be the ones crossing the auction blocks for big $$$! Now is the time to buy one and this particular one has the right stuff and is in amazing condition. It is a 2 owner California car with under 54,000 miles, that I bought from a young man in California who bought it a little over 2 years ago. He had an extended warranty that just ran up and always maintained it at the GM/Pontiac Dealership. He was also meticulous about the cars condition and kept the cars original paint freshly waxed every 6 months. This Trans Am is not only an eye-catching future classic but it is an absolute blast to drive and sounds like the muscle car that it is! I will do my best to honestly describe this cars condition and will provide enough pics and a video walk around to demonstrate its beauty. We have had some beautiful spring-loke weather here in the Atlanta, GA area and I have had this Trans Am all weekend… it is a blast to drive and commands plenty of attention! Sit back and enjoy….you are about to view one of the finest future collectible cars on the market!
Lets start with the body on this gorgeous Trans Am. There is not a single door ding that I have seen and this car has never been in any accidents or had any paint or body work that I can see. I do not see any scrapes along the bottom of the front spoiler which you will usually find on these so I know it was driven with care. The black/grey bird decals look awesome and really set this car off. While the body is in amazing condition I will not call it flawless. There is a very tiny chip on the hood between the ram air scoops that was professionally touched up at some time and a few even tinier rock chips that you will not see unless you really look hard when you are standing right on top of the car. A few minor hairline cracks in the front rubber bumper beneath the drivers side headlight that I do not think you will see in any of the pics. I think these were simply due to the type of rubber/plastic they used on the bumpers of these car and are under the clear coat and really are not very noticeable at all but I like to mention everything. Other then these few very minor flaws the body is in absolutely gorgeous condition! Flip up headlights function perfectly. The black convertible top is also in basically new condition with no signs of wear. I have the original plastic tonneau cover pieces that fit neatly over the convertible area when the top is down. This Trans Am also has a great windstop wind deflector that is not only functional but also looks great. The pics below will give you a walk around tour of the body and at the end of the auction there is a video walk around of the car as well.
Climb Inside this 2002 Collector Edition and you will find exclusive interior trim appointments that highlight the now famous design cues of Firebird and Trans Am through the years. Seats are wrapped in ebony leather with headrests featuring embroidered Collector Edition logos. Also sporting the Collector Edition logo are front floor mats and a trophy/shelf mat. The interior is also in near flawless condition. The only flaws to mention are a small crack at the top of each door panel in the plastic which was a design flaw and occurred on almost every one of these. Barely any wear on the drivers side seat bolster which is rare on these. Floor mats look great and the trophy mat is in the trunk. The only aftermarket item on the interior is a very nice Panasonic AM/FM/CD/DVD head unit that was professionally installed in the dash. It has a flip up style DVD screen to watch movies when you are stopped. The only negative is that you cannot use the steering wheel controls to control volume and change stations but it is a great sounding system with the stock monsoon speakers. Air Conditioning blows ice cold and the power top operates smoothly with the touch of a button. This TA is loaded with power options including power drivers seat. There is also a very nice high end car-cover that will be included with the sale. For added security the previous owner installed a nice high-end Excalibur 2-way vehicle security system which also has a nice remote start feature. The interior of this Collector Edition Trans Am is absolutely gorgeous!!
This legendary car can prove its merit in under 5.5 seconds thanks to 325 horsepower under the functional ram air hood. As an exclamation point to four generations, the collector edition trans am is one rare bird!! Ram Air WS6 Performance and Handling Package…Need I say more? The LS1 5.7L V8 Churns out 325 horsepower at 350 lb-ft. of torque. This bird can fly! With under 54,000 original miles this modern muscle car has just been broken in and pulls hard, strong and smooth! The aftermarket Magna Flow exhaust system gives it that vintage rumble that will have you grinning from ear to ear! The original collector edition 17″ black wheels are wrapped in premium rubber with lots of tread life left. There is some very minor curb rash on 2 of the wheels that could easily be buffed out if desired. This car handles like a dream and needs nothing but you in the drivers seat! I added a sound clip video at the end so you hear how nice she sounds!
Legends aren’t born, they’re made…and this one was in the making 35 years. Your opportunity to own this amazing Collector Edition Trans am is now! This awesome bird is ready to be driven and enjoyed and there is no doubt you could win some shows in it as well if desired. It is truly a future collectible and is in amazing condition.
